Ukraine faces another huge crisis, a particular part destroyed in Russian attack, people will suffer in cold and heat

Kyiv. Russia fired several missiles one after another on Ukraine’s power grid on Sunday, due to which darkness fell in many parts of the country. At the same time, Putin’s army has claimed to have gained an edge in the eastern Donetsk province. Power plants were targeted with drones and missiles on Saturday. Power was cut off in all areas of Ukraine except three areas. At least 19 people have been injured in these attacks.

Ukraine’s state-owned power grid operator said the outages affected both industrial and domestic consumers. The power grid has been under attack from Russian forces in recent weeks, forcing the country to impose blackouts. Ukraine does not have enough resources to repair the power grid due to Russian airstrikes, which could make the situation even worse as demand for electricity increases during this hot summer and the cold winter by the end of the year.

This was the first major attack on the power grid after Russia attacked Ukraine’s power grid in April. Another major attack took place on May 8, damaging power generation and power distribution installations in several areas. After the attacks on Saturday, the Ukrainian Air Force said on Sunday that air defense forces shot down all 25 drones overnight. Russia claimed on Sunday that it had taken control of the village of Umanske in the partially Russian-occupied Donetsk region.

In Russia, six people were injured in shelling in the town of Shebekino in the Belgorod region bordering Ukraine, regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on Sunday. He also said the deputy head of the Korochensky district died in the attack “due to an explosion of ammunition”. He did not give any details. In the neighboring Kursk region, three people were injured on Sunday when an explosive device was dropped from a drone, according to acting regional head Alexei Smirnov.
