Tehran: Iran’s President Ibrahim Raisi has died in a helicopter crash. The Foreign Minister also died along with him in this helicopter accident. Iranian media claimed that both have died in the helicopter crash accident. After several hours of effort, the wreckage of the helicopter has been found. Actually, the helicopter crashed on Sunday in the dense and mountainous area of Azerbaijan. President Ibrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister and other officers were aboard this helicopter. A large-scale rescue operation was started after the accident.
The chief of the Iranian Red Crescent said that rescue teams have reached the crash site and the wreckage of the helicopter. We have received videos from the rescue teams. They say that the entire cabin of the helicopter is badly damaged and burnt. And they say that at present there are no signs of survivors on the site. At the same time, Iranian state news agency IRINN and semi-official news agency Mehr News reported that no survivors have been found at the crash site of the helicopter carrying Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi.
The accident happened when President Ibrahim Raisi was traveling in Iran’s East Azerbaijan province. The helicopter’s hard landing incident happened near the city of Julfa, bordering Azerbaijan, about 600 kilometers (375 miles) northwest of Iran’s capital Tehran. According to the news of the state news agency ‘IRNA’, Iran’s Foreign Minister Hussain Amirabdollahian, the governor of Iran’s East Azerbaijan province and other officials and bodyguards were also traveling with Raisi.
