Giving this information, officials said that the CBI had received information from Interpol that Ankur Shukla, a resident of Indore in Madhya Pradesh, had befriended a girl from Australia through the social media platform Instagram. The CBI said in a statement that in a conversation with the minor girl, Ankur Shukla had allegedly asked her to send her objectionable pictures and videos.

The CBI spokesperson said, “It was alleged that after some time when the said minor girl showed reluctance to share the pictures and videos, the accused started threatening her that he would send her pictures and videos to her friends and family members, as a result, she continued doing so.” He said that the girl later ‘blocked’ Shukla on Instagram but he continued to threaten her using WhatsApp.
