Jana Gan Man Review: Malayalam cinema should be declared the rebel cinema of the country. In this cinema, contemporary issues are always woven into the story of the film in such a way that the hidden message reaches the intelligent audience and for those who watch the film for fun, there is also enough drama in the story. Despite all the restrictions and commercial compulsions, Malayalam cinema has been making films one after the other on such stories which the general audience would probably never accept. The level of education in Kerala is quite high, the political understanding of the residents is also quite aware, due to the greater influence of communist ideology, human sentiments are still given importance. The same thing is seen in Malayalam cinema as well. Its latest example is the movie released on Netflix – Jana Gana Mana. So many pearls of recent events have been woven into a single story that the film looks like a wonderful jewel. It is worth watching. Should be watched immediately.
University professor Saba Mariam (Mamata Mohandas) is murdered. The media blows up the case and the government assigns a senior officer, ACP Sajjan Kumar (Suraj Venjaramudu), to solve the case. Saba’s students and students from other universities protest on the streets, and Sajjan promises Saba’s mother that he will catch the culprits within 30 days. During the investigation, four boys are arrested. Sajjan comes under pressure to hush up the case and is eventually removed from the case. Realizing that the case is slipping from his hands, Sajjan takes the four accused to the spot where they burned Saba alive to understand how they committed the crime.
Sajjan shoots all four of them. The public becomes crazy about this instant justice and Sajjan is praised everywhere. The human rights activists file a case in the court against this encounter. The public believes that nothing will happen to Sajjan but the lawyer against Sajjan is Arvind Swaminathan (Prithviraj Sukumaran) who shatters every argument of this case and succeeds in proving that the entire conspiracy has been hatched by the Home Minister of the government and Sajjan so that the Home Minister can win the election and become the Chief Minister. Who is Arvind, where has he come from, why did he do this and what enmity he had with Sajjan… all this has been shown in the film but only to the extent that it can be established that a sequel of this film will be made and will come soon.
