Jayant Chaudhary met CM Yogi, gave a surprising answer on seat sharing in the by-election

Lucknow. RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary met CM Yogi Adityanath at his residence. Speaking about the meeting, Chaudhary said, ‘Baba (Yogi Adityanath) has a very good vision for the development of Uttar Pradesh and we are working together.’ According to official sources, the meeting lasted for more than an hour. Later, Chaudhary said, ‘The meeting was not long. Time was insufficient, discussions took place.’ Meanwhile, about the meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wrote in a post on the social media platform ‘X’, “Today, I had a courtesy meeting with the Honorable Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) and RLD National President Jayant Chaudhary and the honorable public representatives who accompanied him at the government residence in Lucknow.”

When asked about the upcoming by-elections in UP, the Union Minister of State said, “We do not only talk about elections. We discussed policies. Chief Minister Yogi shared his comprehensive vision for the development of the state. We are all working and working together to make it a reality.”

Chowdhary refused to comment on the seat sharing. Earlier, after a programme at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Chowdhary told reporters, “We are working according to the Constitution. The Constitution is the guiding spirit. No matter who is in the government, no one can change the Constitution.”

The Union Minister said this when he was asked about the allegations that the BJP-led government at the Centre is trying to change the Constitution. He said, ‘Work is being done to uplift every section of the society keeping in mind the Constitution and the rights of the citizens.’

During the recently held Lok Sabha elections, leaders of the Congress-led opposition ‘India’ alliance had alleged that if the BJP comes to power with a majority, it will change the Constitution.

Regarding the by-elections to be held on 10 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh, Chaudhary said, ‘We will fight the elections with full strength.’ When he was asked about the demand being made by his party regarding the seats, he said, ‘There are 10 seats, when there is an alliance, it is fought together.’ By-elections are to be held on 10 assembly seats in UP. However, the election schedule has not been announced yet.
