US to send more warships fighter jets to Middle East: America has already said that Iranian fighters can attack Israel to avenge Hania’s death. As a follow-up to this, America has deployed fighter planes and warships in the Middle East to safeguard Israel. This announcement comes after Iran and its regional allies vowed to avenge the killing of Hamas leader in Tehran and Hezbollah commander in Beirut.
A statement issued by the US said that the US Defense Department will take a fighter jet squadron to the Middle East. It will maintain an aircraft carrier in this region. The Pentagon said that President Joe Biden has taken these steps as part of preparations to protect Israel from Iranian attacks.
This was done to strengthen the US military presence to help protect American soldiers. The Pentagon has decided to keep a carrier constantly in the region for at least the next year as a deterrent against Iran. However, it is not known where the fighter jet squadron is coming from or where it will be deployed in the Middle East.
Biden promised in talks with Israel…
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has also sent extra ballistic missiles to the European and Middle East regions. Steps have been taken to send more and more ground-based ballistic missile defense weapons there. In a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday afternoon, Biden discussed new US military deployments to protect against possible attacks from ballistic missiles and drones.
The US has a constant presence of warships in the Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean. These include two Navy destroyers, the USS Roosevelt and the USS Bulkeley, as well as the USS Wasp and the USS New York. It is not yet clear which new ships will go to the Middle East.
America has been ‘protecting’ Israel before as well
In April, the US military intercepted dozens of missiles and drones launched by Iran against Israel, helping to shoot down almost all of them. The killings of Hamas’ top leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukur in Beirut on Tuesday have further intensified the fighting. Iran has threatened to retaliate after the attack. Israel has vowed to kill Hamas leaders because the group carried out the October 7 attack that claimed many lives.
