VIDEO: Batsmen's 'fear', when umpires got injured in an accident on the cricket field, two died

New Delhi. Like in normal life, accidents are common in sports field too. Cricket is no different. In test cricket, batsmen like Nari Contractor, Steve Smith and Mike Gatting have been badly injured by fast bowlers. In Australia’s domestic cricket, batsman Phil Hughes even lost his life after being hit by Sean Abbott’s ball. Apart from batsmen, bowlers and fielders have also been injured on the field. Apart from players, on some occasions, even the umpires were seen in danger on the field. The batsman’s shot hit him so fast at the non-striker end that he got injured. To avoid such accidents, while some umpires have started wearing helmets, some enter the field wearing safety shields on their arms.

During a recent National Premier League match in Zimbabwe, the umpire was injured due to the carelessness of the batsman. Actually, in the match between SOGO Rangers and Rainbow 1 Cricket Club, Rainbow batsman Francis Sande threw his bat in the air in a celebratory mood after hitting the winning six, which hit the leg of the umpire standing in front. The video of this careless attitude of Francis is viral on social media.
