Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal announced the Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship Scheme on Saturday. Kejriwal said that the Delhi government will bear the expenses of the child from a Dalit family’s education and travel to a foreign university.
Arvind Kejriwal said, “No child of Dalit community should be deprived of getting higher education due to lack of money. I announce Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship. If any Dalit child wants to study in any top university of the world, then He just takes admission in that university, the expenses of his studies and all the traveling expenses will be borne by the Delhi government.”
He said, “Ambedkar has done double PhD after studying abroad. In independent India, no child should face any problem in studying in a foreign university. This scheme will be applicable on government officers also. BJP and Amit Shah are making fun of Ambedkar. We are responding to that through this plan.”
The current tenure of Delhi Assembly ends on 23 February 2025. Elections may be held in the next two months. The last assembly elections were held in February 2020, in which the Aam Aadmi Party won an absolute majority and 62 out of 70 seats.

December 18: Free treatment for elderly people above 60 years of age

Kejriwal announced on December 12 that elderly people above 60 years of age would get free treatment. Kejriwal made it clear that this treatment will be free for all the elderly, no matter which category they fall in. He called it Sanjeevani Yojana.
December 12: Rs 1000 per month for women
On December 12, Kejriwal announced to give ₹1000 every month to women. It has been named Mahila Samman Yojana. Every woman who has completed 18 years of age will come under the scope of this scheme. Kejriwal also said that after the elections, the amount given to women every month will be increased to ₹2100.
December 10: Made 4 announcements for auto drivers

On December 10, Arvind Kejriwal, who had come to eat food at an auto driver’s house in Delhi, also took selfies with people.
Kejriwal had made 4 announcements for auto drivers on December 10. He had said that Rs 1 lakh would be given for the marriage of the auto driver’s daughter. Two and a half thousand rupees will be given for making uniforms on Holi and Diwali. Life insurance of Rs 10 lakh and accidental insurance of Rs 5 lakh will also be provided. Besides, money will be given for coaching of children of auto drivers.
November 21: Announcement of pension of up to ₹ 2500 every month to 5 lakh people.
Kejriwal announced to restart the pension scheme for the elderly on November 21. 80 thousand new elderly people have been added to the scheme. Earlier 4.50 lakh people used to get the benefit of this scheme. Now more than five lakh elderly people will come under the purview of this scheme.
Senior citizens between 60 to 69 years will be given Rs 2000 every month. Whereas elderly people above 70 years will get Rs 2500 per month. Announcing the scheme, former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said – he came out of jail with the blessings of his elders. This scheme is to thank them.
AAP will contest assembly elections alone in Delhi
- Assembly elections are to be held in Delhi in February next year. Arvind Kejriwal rejected speculations of an alliance between Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress before the elections. AAP chief Kejriwal has said that the Aam Aadmi Party will contest the elections on its own.
- On Wednesday, the news was revealed that AAP is considering giving 15 seats to Congress in Delhi Assembly elections, but Kejriwal has rejected the talk of alliance through a post on X.
- AAP has so far declared candidates for 31 seats. In the 2020 elections, AAP had MLAs on 27 seats, while BJP had MLAs on 4. This time AAP has canceled the tickets of 24 out of 27 MLAs i.e. 89%.
