Panchayat representative paying respects to President Draupadi Murmu in Delhi
The country’s President Draupadi Murmu presented 3 awards to 2 Panchayats of Himachal Pradesh in a program organized at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi on Wednesday. This honor was given for better work in 9 different themes.

Thanadhar Panchayat of Shimla district received two awards at the national level. Got second position at the national level for Socially Safe Village Theme. In return, the Panchayat received Rs 75 lakh, while Nanaji Deshmukh Best Panchayat, Thanadhar Panchayat got the third position at the national level on the theme of continuous development. In return for this the Panchayat received an amount of Rs 50 lakh.
Hamirpur’s Sikandar Panchayat gets award on water conservation theme
Sikandar Panchayat of Bamsan block of Hamirpur received this award for doing excellent work in water conservation. These awards have been given to Panchayats across the country in nine theme categories decided for local sustainable development goals.
