Following a complaint by Congress MLA Lakshmi Hebbalkar, her supporters forcibly entered the assembly, police forces were deployed to stop them.

Karnataka Women and Child Development Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar on Thursday accused BJP MLA CT Ravi of using derogatory words. She said that Ravi called her a ‘prostitute’ in the Belagavi Legislative Council.

Lakshmi, along with Congress members, has complained to Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti and demanded action. At the same time, after the incident, Hebbalkar’s supporters surrounded Ravi’s car and demonstrated.

BJP MLA Ravi refuted Lakshmi Hebbalkar’s allegations and said that she had not said anything like that. Congress is implicating him by making false allegations. He has never used such words for a woman minister.

Debate took place during Congress’s protest against Amit Shah

On Thursday, Congress MLAs were protesting in the Karnataka Assembly against Amit Shah’s statement in Parliament. During this, BJP MLA Ravi called Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi a ‘drug addict’. After this, Hebbalkar shouted and told Ravi that he had crushed a man to death with the car. Angered by this, Ravi allegedly called Hebbalkar a ‘prostitute’ several times.

Chairman of the Legislative Council said – no such incident is on record Legislative Council Speaker Basavaraj Horatti has ordered an investigation into the video and audio footage to investigate Minister Lakshmi’s allegations. He said- When this incident happened, the Legislative Council was adjourned and all the microphones were switched off. There was no stenographer, so nothing is on record.

CM Siddaramaiah Said- Will complain to the police Chief Minister Siddaramaiah condemned the incident and said Hebbalkar would lodge a complaint with the police. CM’s son Yatindra said that the BJP MLA called his minister by this word many times. Congress MLA BK Hariprasad also said that he was present there when the BJP MLA made the comment. This kind of language is not spoken in civilized society. This shows BJP’s thinking towards women.
