Jaipur Police recently arrested a woman, whom it described as a ‘robber bride’. This woman is very clever and quick-witted, who married many men and used to extort lakhs of rupees from them in the name of compromise. By doing this he looted about Rs 1.25 crore. Now after almost a decade this robber bride has been caught. Seema alias Nikki is a resident of Uttarakhand, who first married a businessman from Agra in 2013.
Shortly after the marriage, she filed a police case against her husband and his family and received Rs 75 lakh from them in the name of settlement.
Four years later, in 2017, Seema married a software engineer from Gurugram. Here also he used his same old trick and later after separating from that person, he took Rs 10 lakh from him as a settlement.
After this, she married a businessman from Jaipur in 2023, but soon ran away from his house with Rs 36 lakh in cash and jewellery. After the family registered a case, Jaipur Police arrested Seema.
Police investigation revealed that Seema used to search for her victims on matrimonial sites. These usually targeted men who were either divorced or had lost their wives. By marrying in different states, he collected a total of Rs 1.25 crore as settlement in many such cases.
