This ninth generation model of Toyota Camry has been launched in India.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has today (December 11) launched the facelift model of its popular sedan Camry. The new generation Toyota Camry is offered in only one feature loaded variant and is priced at Rs 48 lakh (introductory ex-showroom, Pan-India).
The new Toyota Camry is priced at Rs 1.83 lakh more than its previous model, which was priced at Rs 46.17 lakh (ex-showroom). Customers can book the sedan online or by visiting their nearest dealership. Its delivery has been started. Toyota Camry’s direct competition in India is with Skoda Superb.
This is the ninth generation model of Camry, it has been introduced with new design, new interior layout, new comfort features, updated powertrain and Advanced Driving Assist System (ADAS) safety features. The car has a next-generation hybrid system, which the company claims will provide a mileage of 25kmpl.


Exterior: 18-inch alloy wheels and new design grille The ninth generation Toyota Camry is based on the TNGA-K platform. It is used in many Toyota and Lexus cars like Alphard, Sienna, Venza, Lexus ES and Lexus RX. Talking about the design, it has been designed on the new design theme of the company and its look is quite futuristic.
The front of the car has a newly designed thin LED headlight with angular C-shaped DRL. Between the two headlamps is a honeycomb-patterned dual-tone grille, painted in body colour, which extends towards the bottom of the car. Apart from this, sharp bonnet crease and air duck are available on the bumper.
18-inch alloy wheels have been provided in the side profile and from the side it is largely the same as before. At the rear, it has a new design C-shaped LED tail light and ‘Camry’ badging in between. It has a ‘Toyota’ logo on the boot lid with an integrated spoiler and a black finish on the lower part of the rear bumper which gives it a rugged look.


Performance: 2.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine The new Toyota Camry has an updated 2.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine, which is paired with the company’s fifth generation hybrid system THS 5. It has a 100kW permanent magnet synchronous motor with a lithium ion battery.
Together, these two generate power of 230hp and peak torque of 221Nm. The engine is tuned with e-CVT gearbox for transmission. The company claims that the car will run 25.49 kilometers in one liter of petrol. Eco, Normal and Sport driving modes are provided to drive this front wheel drive (FWD) car.
