Within seconds, a horrific accident occurs on the National Highway and six people lose their lives without any fault. That too of those six people whose car was driving in its own lane. Automotive software company CEO Chandram Yegapagol and five members of his family lost their lives in this accident in Nelamangala, Karnataka. The driver told how the accident happened
The driver of the truck that collided with the car in the Nelamangala accident on Monday claimed that he had tried to save a car moving ahead when he lost control of his vehicle and was hit by a car coming from the opposite direction. But fell down. Six people died in this accident.
Jharkhand resident truck driver Arif, who was injured in the accident and admitted to the hospital, told the media that there was a car in front of his truck and it was going at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour.
He said, “The car driver suddenly applied brakes and I lost control of the truck. To save the car, I turned the steering wheel towards the road divider. But then I saw another car and I again The truck turned to the left, due to which the container filled with steel fell.”
According to the police, the truck driver was unaware that six members of a family traveling in the car were killed when the container fell on an SUV car.
Why did the driver apply the brakes suddenly?
Piecing together the sequence of events, a policeman from Nelamangala said, “The accident happened due to the mistake of a car driver who applied brakes without thinking. A blue car ahead of the container truck suddenly slowed down in the middle of the road, probably She was looking for a restaurant or an exit.”
Due to sudden braking of the vehicle, the container truck driver behind it had to apply his brakes. In the chaos, he lost control, causing the truck to cross the divider and go to the other side of the road and collide with Chandram’s Volvo SUV, which was coming from the opposite direction.
The SUV was so crushed that it could not be recognised. The family traveling in the car lost their lives in a tragic incident which they had not even imagined. The accident occurred on Saturday at Nelamangala near Talekere on the outskirts of Bengaluru when the family in the vehicle was on their way to Vijayapura.
Police are scanning CCTV footage
However, the police have refused to share information related to the investigation and claimed that it will affect their investigation.
Police said that Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) level officers are investigating the case and images from CCTV cameras installed around the spot are being examined to find out the cause of the accident.
A senior police officer said, “A DSP level officer is investigating the case… We do not want to share any details that may hamper the process.”
