The incident took place on Sunday, when Rinku Kumari’s daughter gave birth to a child in Panapur village. Family members told that when they went for vaccination on Monday, the nurse asked for Rs 50. Rinku had only Rs 30, which she gave and requested to give the remaining amount later. But the nurse kept the documents in lieu of the remaining amount.
Demand for clarification within 24 hours
The matter was complained to Civil Surgeon Dr. BP Sinha. Taking immediate action, he has stopped the salary of the accused GNM and sought an explanation within 24 hours. The Civil Surgeon made it clear that illegal recovery from any health worker will not be tolerated.
This is not the first case when Sadar Hospital has come into limelight for illegal recovery. The hospital administration has assured strict action against the accused. This incident has once again raised questions on the practice of illegal recovery going on in government hospitals.
