Budhram Sumbrui was injured in a road accident in Dangurpi Tola of Bhuta village. After getting information about the incident, Budhram’s father Rajesh Sumbrui called 108 for an ambulance. The ambulance driver picked up the call but started delaying in coming to the spot. After this Rajesh took his son Budhram to the hospital on bike. Here the teenager died due to excessive bleeding and delay in treatment.
Expressing his displeasure over not getting a government ambulance, the deceased’s father Rajesh Sumbrui has made serious allegations against the administration and the ambulance driver of arbitrariness and harassing the people.
Here, Civil Surgeon of West Singhbhum district, Dr. Sushanto Kumar Manjhi said that 108 ambulance works as per the instructions of Ranchi. There is not much interference from us in this. If a patient does not get 108 ambulance, then we arrange for an ambulance from Sadar Hospital as soon as we get the information.
If an ambulance driver commits such negligence then action can also be taken against him. Whereas anyone who is an ambulance driver cannot say no. There may be a delay in reaching the spot. But he has no right to refuse.
