A jeweler was shot dead in the head on Friday (January 10) in Amritsar, Punjab. The person had come to the shop of the deceased along with his son, brother-in-law and family members for money transaction. During this, there was an argument between both the parties.

After this the accused went home and brought a pistol. Here he argued again and came into the street and shot the jeweler. In which he died on the spot. The deceased has been identified as Simranpal Singh.
CCTV footage of the incident also surfaced. In which the accused is seen running away after being shot. The police have arrested him.
After shooting, the accused fled from the spot.
The deceased and the accused are both friends According to the police, both Jasdeep Singh Chann and Simranpal Singh were friends. Both of them worked as goldsmiths. They had to come and go to each other. Simranpal Singh has a shop in the name of Jaipal Jeweler in Tahliwala market. On Friday afternoon, Jasdeep Singh along with his son and family went to Simranpal Singh’s shop for transaction.
During this time there was an altercation between the two. After the matter escalated, Jasdeep Singh left from there. At 3 o’clock he again came to Simranpal Singh’s shop and started arguing with him. Both of them came to the street outside the shop while arguing. Meanwhile, Jasdeep Singh took out a pistol and shot Simranpal Singh on the head.

Doctors declared him dead Police further said that the bullet hit Simranpal Singh in the head and he fell in the street. After that a person caught hold of accused Jasdeep Singh Chann, due to which he got scared and ran away. Simranpal was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
After the incident, nearby shopkeepers gathered. They closed their shops.
SP said- accused was chased and caught After the incident, all the shopkeepers gathered at the spot. They closed their shops and informed the police about the incident. Police reached the spot and investigated and checked the CCTV cameras installed nearby.
SP HS Randhawa said that the accused took this step out of anger. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot. The team chased and arrested the accused. Police is interrogating him.
