The spate of rhetoric and speculations is at its peak before the Delhi Assembly elections. BJP surrounds ‘Sheeshmahal’
Kejriwal has made such serious allegations when BJP on Monday claimed that the CAG report has raised 139 questions related to former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s former residence on Flagstaff Road and exposed his “dark deeds”. .
BJP’s Delhi unit president Virendra Sachdeva, while addressing the press conference, said that the 2022 report has quoted an expenditure of Rs 33.86 crore on “Sheesh Mahal”, but the actual cost is much higher than that.
He claimed, “This report pertains to the expenditure till 2022. There is no disclosure about the expenditure for 2023 and 2024 and as per our knowledge, if the list of items present in the bungalow is included then the actual cost would be Rs 75 crore.” It is up to Rs 80 crore.
Ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, BJP has intensified its attack on Kejriwal and accused him of corruption in the large-scale renovation and furnishing work done at the bungalow at 6, Flagstaff Road. Kejriwal was living in this bungalow during his tenure as Chief Minister.
