Election bugle has been sounded in Delhi. This time also the assembly elections will be held in a single phase in the capital. Voting for the assembly elections will take place on 5 February 2025. Whereas the election results will come on 8th February. The tenure of the 7th Delhi Assembly is ending on February 15 and by then the members of the next Assembly should be elected. The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is pushing for victory for the third consecutive time. At the same time, the opposition BJP has used all its strength to turn the tables. Congress is also involved in this fight, which is entering the fray alone and targeting both BJP and AAP. Congress and AAP have been allies under the INDIA alliance during the Lok Sabha elections.
There are 70 assembly seats in Delhi, out of which 62 seats are with Aam Aadmi Party alone and the remaining 8 seats were won by BJP. Congress is in a very bad situation in Delhi since the last two elections. 12 assembly seats in the national capital are reserved for Scheduled Castes.

How many voters are there in Delhi?
According to the Election Commission, a total of 13,033 polling booths have been made in Delhi. This time there are 1.55 crore voters in the capital, out of which 1.09 voters are above 85 years of age.
AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, who resigned as chief minister after being granted bail in a corruption case, is leading the party’s campaign. The 56-year-old leader has said he will return to the top post only after the verdict of the “people’s court”. Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has also said that he will take up a role in the cabinet after “the public’s decision”.
Kejriwal, Sisodia, AAP MP Sanjay Singh and former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain were arrested by central agencies in corruption cases. The party has termed it as politics of revenge and accused BJP of using investigation agencies for political goals.
