On December 11, the gang had cut and stolen about four and a half kilometer long 11,000 volt power line from Raikera forest of Bharno police station area to Bantoli Dohar. Due to this theft, electricity supply to dozens of villages in the area was disrupted. On the complaint of the electricity department, the police registered a case and started investigation.
Wire recovered from junk shop
The arrested accused include gang leader Murshid Bux (resident of Paharkesha), Seraj Ansari (Melani village), Sheikh Taiful alias Pappu and Tausif Mallik (both residents of Chachkopi village). Police have recovered the stolen wire from a junk shop located in Ranchi.
Notably, the gang leader Murshid Bux is a notorious criminal with 14 criminal cases already registered against him in various police stations. Police force including SHO Kanchan Prajapati, SI Mantu Chaudhary, Abhinandan Kumar, Vijay Lakra played an important role in this successful action.
