The construction of North Campus of Central University in Dharamshala, Himachal has been stuck for 15 years due to lack of approval from the Union Environment Ministry. Education Department proposed to reduce the amount The Higher Education Department has proposed to reduce this amount to Rs 10.50 crore. The department has written a letter to the Chief Conservator of Forests for environmental clearance, seeking permission to deposit an amount of Rs 10.50 crore after giving exemption of Rs 19.53 crore. No letter has been received from the Chief Conservator of Forests regarding this. This matter has also been brought to the notice of higher officials by the department. But no solution could be found.
