The two-day festival of Uttarayan in Gujarat usually sees cases of vehicle accidents, cases of falling from rooftops, cases of kite flyers cutting hands and necks and injuries due to electric shock. For this, 108 service has been put on alert.

4900 emergency cases are likely to be registered in Uttarayan this year. Even before Uttarayan, hundreds of emergency cases are coming every day. It is estimated that there may be 4900 emergency cases on January 14 and 4500 emergency cases on January 15. For this also, teams of 108 ambulances have been prepared. Animals and birds will also get emergency treatment under the Karuna campaign. 37 ambulances have been deployed in big cities. The ambulance number of Karuna Abhiyan is 1962. The Karuna campaign will run from January 13 to January 20. Apart from this, 50 additional ambulances have been planned.

For the last 17 years, for the safety and protection of innocent birds, Nursing Association and Parshvanath Charitable Trust-Gopipura are organizing camps for the treatment of injured birds through the helpline service at New Civil Hospital. While life support for birds and a team of doctors and an ambulance service to treat injured patients are operational, this year also a helpline service has been started at New Civil Hospital for injured birds and injured citizens.
Seven ambulances have been deployed in Vadodara city through Karuna Abhiyaan. Along with this, three operation theaters and more than 40 collection centers have also been built.
