Gurvinder Singh, the notorious gangster of Punjab who ran the Rocky Fazilka gang, has been arrested by the Jalandhar Dehat Police. The accused had kidnapped an NRI in Mehatpur and demanded a ransom of about Rs 20 crore from him. The police caught the accused about 210 kms.

Gurvinder Singh, originally a resident of MC Colony, Fazilka, was the leader of the notorious gangster Rocky Fazilka gang. After Rocky’s death, Gurvinder was running his entire gang. On 22 December 2024, the accused was involved in the Mehatpur firing at JK Restaurant. The accused had committed this incident regarding money transaction. Gurvinder also played a key role in the kidnapping of NRI Nachhatar Singh for ransom of Rs 20 crore in 2020.
Before this, three of Gurvinder’s associates have been arrested. Which includes Paramjit Singh alias Mor Sidhu, Hira Singh alias Gurpradeep Singh and Sunil Kumar alias Sonu Kamboj. Who was arrested with 32 bore revolver and Maruti SX-4 car.

SSP Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh of Jalandhar Dehat Police said – On December 22, 2024, Gurvinder Singh and his gang had carried out a deadly attack on JK Sweet Shop and Restaurant in Mehatpur at around 4:45 am. The gang fired several rounds at the restaurant owner. After the incident, the accused fled from the spot. A case was registered under various sections in Mehatpur regarding this.
After which the police teams under the leadership of Inspector Sukhdev Singh, SHO of Mehtupar police station, started the operation on the basis of forensic evidence recovered from the spot and intelligence received from surveillance. Police teams traced the accused through CCTV footage and tracked the vehicle used in the crime for more than 210 kilometres. After which Gurvinder was finally arrested.

Many serious cases are registered in Rajasthan
SSP Khakh asserted that Gurvinder’s gang was involved in heinous crimes like contract killing, extortion and heroin smuggling. Three illegal weapons, a 12-bore double barrel shotgun and other items have been recovered from the accused. During preliminary interrogation, it was revealed that Gurvinder Singh was actively involved in extortion, contract killing and land disputes in Punjab and Rajasthan.
