Singer Diljit Dosanjh seems to be stuck in legal trouble. Diljit did a live concert in Ludhiana on 31 December. In this show he sang some songs promoting alcohol. The Women and Child Development Department of Punjab had already issued a notice to the District Commissioner of Ludhiana in this regard to stop the singer from singing songs containing alcohol and drugs.
It is alleged that Diljit sang songs promoting alcohol and drugs despite the ban. In this regard, Panditrao Dharenwar, an assistant professor from Chandigarh, said that if action is not taken in the matter, he will prepare to go to court against the singer.
Panditrao Dharanwar said that in the decision of Punjab and Haryana High Court in the year 2019, instructions were given to the police not to play songs promoting alcohol, drugs or violence in public programs.
Let us tell you, Diljit had said in a concert in Ahmedabad on November 17 that if the Indian government bans liquor, he will stop making songs on it.
Despite this, Diljit sang songs like ‘Theke’, ‘Kes’, ‘Patiala Peg’ with slight changes in the concert organized at Punjab Agricultural University in Ludhiana. Diljit has received a formal notice from the Deputy Director of the Children’s Department. In which it is written that the singer was requested not to sing songs promoting drugs or violence in the live show on December 31. Despite this, he continued singing those songs in concerts.
Earlier, in a notice issued by the District Welfare Officer of Telangana, the singer was asked not to sing songs like Patiala Peg and Panj Tara during the live show.
Responding to this, the singer had said during a program in Ahmedabad that if the Indian government bans alcohol, he will stop making songs about alcohol. He had said that if all the states declare themselves liquor-free states, I promise that I will never sing about liquor.
