Punjab government’s new strategy to deal with drug addiction
Now the government will make a new policy to control drug addiction in Punjab. Orders have been issued by CM Bhagwant Mann to form a committee. At the same time, a steering committee has been formed under the leadership of Chief Secretary KP Sinha to monitor the drug de-addiction and rehabilitation program in the state. h

Center for women is being established in Ludhiana
According to the initial outline of the new policy, discussions are going on on many things. To stop the trend of drug abuse in educational institutions, study material related to it will be included in the syllabus. Similarly, a clinic is being established in Ludhiana for the de-addiction and rehabilitation of women. In the past, a campaign was launched against drug smugglers. Now a plan will be prepared on arrangements to deal with drugs. Apart from this, master trainers will be prepared by the Higher Education Department on behalf of the Education Department.
303 drug de-addiction centers established
Support will also be provided in the community wing of Punjab Police. At present there are 303 de-addiction centers and rehabilitation centers in the state. Similarly, the state government is also running Ott Clinic. A large number of youth between 18 to 25 years are included in this. Apart from this, police is also running many programs. Property worth crores of rupees has been seized.
