A large number of devotees are expected to attend the Mahakumbh bath.
During the upcoming Mahakumbh to be held from 13 January to 26 February 2025, a demand has been raised to arrange adequate water in Tapti river for holy bath in Betul also. Thousands of devotees are likely to come for the bath to be held at 6 major places in the district.

Letter written to officials regarding water level Ramkishore Pawar, President of Maa Suryaputri Tapti Jagriti Samiti, Madhya Pradesh, has written a letter to the key officials of the district in this regard. In the letter, he said that a large number of devotees are expected to attend the first two Mahakumbh baths to be held on January 13 and 14. These devotees will gather at Barhalinga, Tapti coast and other ghats of Tapti in the district. Whereas, at present the water level in Tapti river is quite low.
Pawar has urged the Union Minister of State, local MLAs, District Panchayat President, Vice President and District Collector to immediately issue an order to release water from Parsdoh Pachdhar reservoir to ensure adequate water availability at places like Kolgaon, Barhaling and Khedi Ghat.
