Thane News: A shocking case of brutality against a woman has come to light in Thane district of Maharashtra. A man from Thane district has been accused of raping a 27-year-old woman, blackmailing her, forcing her to marry him and burning her with a cigarette and a hot pan. Police said on Tuesday that the victim had befriended the accused through social media four years ago, after which these incidents started. Based on the complaint of the victim, the police have registered an FIR against the 38-year-old man and five of his family members, including his mother.
The accused, a resident of Ulhasnagar town, had become a friend of the local resident victim on Facebook in 2021. He later allegedly took her to a lodge in the town and raped her, an officer from Vitthalwadi police station told PTI. Quoting the victim’s complaint, he said that the accused made an objectionable video of the victim. Then he threatened to upload the video online if he did not listen to him. By blackmailing this video, he raped the woman on several occasions.
Police said the victim was later forced to marry the man. After this the accused and his mother took him to Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh where they cut his hair and eyebrows. Not only this, the accused kept him hostage in a house.
The accused committed brutality
The man allegedly burnt the victim with a cigarette, the officer said. He and his mother hit her with a hot pan, seriously injuring her. He told that the accused took away his Aadhaar and PAN card as well as the bank passbook. His documents were misused to take loan.

The officer said they threatened her that if she did not fulfill their demand for money from her father, they would upload her objectionable video online. The woman lodged a complaint with the police on Sunday, on the basis of which a case was registered against the accused under relevant sections. Police said no arrests have been made in this regard so far. At present, the investigation of the case is going on.
