As Mumbai’s municipal elections are approaching, cracks can be clearly seen emerging among the INDIA block parties, as now Shiv Sena (UBT) has given the message of contesting the elections alone. Rajya Sabha MP and senior Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said the India Bloc and Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance is for the Lok Sabha and assembly elections, not the local body elections.
He said, “Workers of different parties do not get opportunities in the alliance and this hinders the development of the organization. We will contest the elections of Mumbai, Thane, Nagpur and other municipal corporations, district councils and panchayats on the basis of our strength. “
He said that party chief Uddhav Thackeray has indicated to the party that it should contest the elections alone.
Hitting out at Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar for indulging in blame game over the MVA’s defeat in the state assembly, Raut said those who do not believe in consensus and compromise have no right to be in the alliance.
