Mahakumbh 2025: A fair of faith has been organized in Mahakumbh 2025 of Prayagraj and in just two days, crores of devotees have taken a dip in the Sangam in this great festival. With the beginning of Kumbh on Tuesday, more than one crore people took a dip, while on the second day i.e. on Makar Sankranti, the number of people taking a dip in Sangam crossed two crore. The great festival which started from 13th January will continue till 26th February. This time the responsibility of Mahakumbh has been given to IAS officer Vijay Kiran Anand, under whose leadership work is being done day and night for the grand and historic event.
Who is Vijay Kiran Anand?
Let us tell you that Vijay Kiran Anand is a 2009 batch IAS officer of UP cadre. Bengaluru-born Vijay Kiran Anand has also obtained the degree of Chartered Accountant. Vijay Kiran Anand’s initial posting was as SDM in Baghpat district, where he worked for two years. After this he was transferred to the post of Chief Development Officer in Barabanki district. Vijay Kiran Anand has held the post of District Magistrate in Mainpuri, Unnao, Firozabad, Varanasi and Shahjahanpur. In the year 2017 and 2019 he served as the official for Magh Mela and Ardh Kumbh Mela respectively.
PM Modi has honored
Vijay Kiran Anand’s extensive experience has led him to be appointed as the Fair Officer for the event to be held in 2024. During his tenure as DM of Gorakhpur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored him with the PM Award 2020. On Civil Services Day, PM Modi honored him with a memento and citation.
First nectar bath completed
Let us tell you that on the day of Makar Sankranti in Mahakumbh, the first bath in nectar was done ritually. After this, second nectar bath will be taken in Mahakumbh. Amrit bath of the saints of the Akhara started on Tuesday morning. By 10 am, the fair administration reported that 1.38 crore devotees had already taken the holy dip in the Ganga and Sangam. In the Amrit Snan of the Akharas, first of all the saints of Shri Panchayati Akhara Mahanirvani and Shri Shambhu Panchayati Atal Akhara took the Amrit Snan at the Sangam while chanting ‘Har Har Mahadev’. After taking the Amrit bath, Mahamandaleshwar Chetan Giri Ji Maharaj of Mahanirvani Akhara said, “Purna Kumbh takes place every 12 years in Prayagraj and after 12 Purna Kumbhs, this Mahakumbh comes after 144 years.” “Very lucky people get the opportunity to take a bath in the Maha Kumbh.”
