Delhi assembly elections 2025: Senior Congress leader Sandeep Dixit has said that he is optimistic about the party’s prospects. His meetings with the residents of Delhi have revealed positive thinking towards Congress. Sandeep Dixit, party’s candidate from New Delhi seat for the upcoming Delhi elections. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) The chief and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been termed as a “useless MLA”. Dikshit, who is contesting against Kejriwal from the New Delhi seat won by the AAP convenor for three consecutive terms, said voters in the constituency see him as a ‘useless MLA’.
According to the report of news agency ANI, in an interview with editor Smita Prakash, Dixit said, “The voter here… sees him (Arvind Kejriwal) as an MLA… him (voters) as a completely useless MLA.” ” In a short video of the conversation shared by ANI, Dikshit was also seen referring to her late mother and former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and the “personal attacks” made by Kejriwal against her.
Referring to the allegations made by the AAP chief against her mother during Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption Lokpal movement, Dikshit said, “It was a completely personal attack…there was nothing political in it.” Responding to a question on his allegations against Kejriwal, the Congress leader said he had called the former Delhi CM a “hypocrite”. Dikshit said the controversy over the renovation of his government bungalow has tarnished Kejriwal’s image as a “common man”.
Dikshit said she always knew that Kejriwal was not what he pretended to be in public. “He is not someone who will never live in a bungalow, or buy a car, or say that he will take all his decisions after consulting the people of Delhi. I always knew that,” Dikshit said. ..When I spoke to his friends during the Lokpal movement… I knew he was a dictator.”
Dikshit is optimistic about the party’s prospects. He claims that there has been a positive change in voter sentiment in favor of Congress. Dikshit also reacted to the recent sanction given by the Home Ministry for the money laundering case against Kejriwal. He said this was expected in view of the ongoing rumors and financial irregularities during the elections in Goa and Punjab. Sandeep Dixit said, “Understanding the public mood was important in formulating our approach for the elections. I believe voters are not satisfied with the government’s performance.”

On the sanction given by the Home Ministry for the money laundering case against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Sandeep Dixit said that “It was expected in view of the rumors and financial irregularities going on during the elections in Goa and Punjab. We have given the sanction to the money laundering case against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. “We have seen significant financial activity at the grassroots level.” For your information, let us tell you that voting for 70 assembly seats of Delhi is to be held in a single phase on February 5. Whereas the counting of votes will take place on February 8.
