Wi-Fi facility will now be available in some domestic flights of Air India. At present this service will be available only in Airbus A350, Boeing 787-9 and some A321neo aircraft. Air India has become the first airline in the country to provide Wi-Fi internet service in domestic flights.
Wi-Fi is free for an introductory period and will gradually be introduced on other aircraft in the fleet over time. In-flight Wi-Fi will allow multiple devices to connect simultaneously while above 10,000 feet. This service will depend on factors like satellite connectivity and government restrictions.
Till now, Wi-Fi service was being provided on international routes under a pilot program in Airbus A350, select Airbus A321neo and Boeing B787-9 aircraft. After the successful pilot run, this service is now being started on the domestic route.
Process to access Wi-Fi in 3 steps
- After turning on Wi-Fi on the device, select Air India Wi-Fi network.
- After selecting the network, Air India portal will open in the browser of the device.
- After filling information like PNR and last name, you will be able to access the internet.
