Karan Johar is renowned for directing and producing some of Bollywood’s most iconic films, including the classics Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Dostana and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, among others. Recently, the filmmaker came across a viral post related to his 2001 film, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (K3G), and his reaction to the heartwarming clip is priceless.
Taking to his Instagram Stories, KJo shared a video that was originally posted on TikTok and reshared by a pop culture page on Instagram. The clip featured an adorable little boy sitting on the sofa, completely engrossed in watching Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. The film was playing in the background while someone recorded the child’s reaction to it. As soon as the title track began to play, the baby boy’s eyes welled up, and soon, he started to cry.
The video was posted with “SRK and Hrithik, you guys just made my little man cry,” followed by a tear face emoji, written over it. Sharing this on his own account, KJo wrote, “Omg!!! My Heart” with a series of red heart emojis.
On the post, captioned “Protect him at all costs,” K3G’s streaming partner, Netflix, and other people online also reacted to the little boy’s emotional moment. While the streaming giant wrote, “Proof that k3g is literally an emotion,” one user said, “Happens to the best of us.” Someone else added, “It’s that song! It gets all of us!”
Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, directed by Karan Johar, revolves around the wealthy Raichand family. The bond between the members is tested by love and pride but is ultimately restored through forgiveness and emotional growth. K3G featuring some of the biggest names in Bollywood, such as Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Kajol and Kareena Kapoor, is considered one of the highest-grossing films in India. It was released in 2001.
As for Karan Johar’s work front, the 52-year-old filmmaker is currently basking in the success of his production, Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, starring Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday. The film was released in theatres on April 18 and has earned Rs 108 crore worldwide. Next, his production house is backing the sequel to Dhadak, titled Dhadak 2, starring Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
