The Kerala police on Tuesday, April 29, arrested 42-year-old Mini Nambiar in connection with the murder of her husband, KK Radhakrishnan in Kannur of Kerala. Radhakrishnan (51), an auto driver, was shot dead in the couple’s new home at Kaithapram in Kannur district on March 20. Mini was arrested by Pariyaram police for allegedly conspiring to kill her husband with the help of Santhosh, her former classmate she had recently reconnected with.
According to reports, Mini is the third accused in the case, following Santhosh and Sijo Jose, who allegedly supplied the weapon. Police say Santhosh shot Radhakrishnan at the under-construction house, where he had started working as a helper.
Mini and Santhosh were school classmates who reconnected during a reunion six months prior to the murder. Their bond reportedly grew closer over time. As their relationship deepened, Radhakrishnan objected strongly to their relationship. He even filed a police complaint against Santhosh, alleging that he had received repeated threats from Santhosh via Facebook.
Santhosh later confessed to police that Radhakrishnan had physically assaulted Mini over her friendship with him — a conflict that, police believe, became a key motive behind the murder.
On the day of the crime, locals reportedly heard a loud sound but mistook it for firecrackers. It was Radhakrishnan and Mini’s son who came out crying after seeing his father’s body, alerting neighbours. When they arrived at the scene, they found Radhakrishnan lying in a pool of blood on the veranda.
Just before and after the murder, Santhosh posted cryptic Facebook updates. At 4:23 pm, he uploaded a photo of himself holding a gun with the caption, “The task is to hit the target. Certain, I will.” After Radhakrishnan’s body was found, at 7:27 pm, he posted again: “Didn’t I tell you? Didn’t I tell you not to harm my girl? I can bear it if I lose my life, but not my girl.”
