The accused have allegedly confessed that besides pasting the flag, they planned to write, “Hindustan Murdabad” and “Pakistan Zindabad” as an attempt to create communal disturbance in the area.
The Bongaon police wrote on X that they will “spare no efforts to bring to book those who are hatching conspiracies to trigger communal unrest”.
The alleged conspiracy instigate violence comes at a time when there are communal tensions in parts of West Bengal following the Pahalgam terror attack and the recent violence in Murshidabad.
