Land for Jobs Case: Lalu Yadav and his family summoned in land case in lieu of job, Rabri Devi reached Ed office for questioning

Land For Jobs Case: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, his son Tej Pratap Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi for questioning in the money laundering case of the job instead of land. Tej Pratap and Rabri Devi have been asked to appear before the agency on Tuesday (March 18). While Lalu Prasad has been summoned in Patna on Wednesday (March 19). Former Bihar CM Rabri Devi reached the ED office on Tuesday morning in the case related to the land scam in exchange for jobs. He was accompanied by his daughter Misa Bharti.

Many party leaders and MLAs, including RJD state spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav, have also reached outside the ED office. Singh alleged, “This year to be held in Bihar assembly elections In view of this, the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government is harassing Lalu Yadav’s family and misusing the central agency to tarnish his image. “

Sources said that Lalu Prasad’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav can be questioned this afternoon in the land case in lieu of job. Last year, ED filed a charge sheet in a case against Lalu Prasad’s family members in a Delhi court. Apart from his wife Rabri Devi and her daughter Misa Bharti and Hema Yadav, some others were also accused.

The matter of land in lieu of job is related to the appointments of Group D in the west central region of the railway in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, which was done during the tenure of the former CM from 2004 to 2009 during the tenure of the Railway Minister. These appointments were allegedly made in exchange for the land gifted or transformed by people who got jobs in the name of RJD supremo’s family or colleagues.

According to PTI report, on October 7, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court granted bail to Lalu Prasad Yadav and his sons Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav. The bail was given on a private bail bond of Rs 1-1 lakh. The ED had filed the first charge sheet in January in a job case with former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi and her daughter and MP Misa Bharti.

In the investigation, Amit Katyal (who is said to be close to the Yadav family), Hema Yadav and Hridayanand Chaudhary have also been described as party. Earlier, Delhi High Court granted regular bail to businessman Amit Katyal on medical grounds.

The report quoted a senior advocate as saying, “Katyal was arrested in November 2023. He has been in custody since then. He is also a witness in a CBI case. He was not well in his health status and had surgery.”

The ED filed a supplementary charge sheet on 6 August. Lalu, Tejashwi, Lallan Chaudhary, Hazari Rai, Dharmendra Kumar, Akhileshwar Singh, Ravinder Kumar, late Lal Babu Rai, Sonmatia Devi, late Kishun Dev Rai and Sanjay Rai were nominated. This charge sheet includes 96 assistant documents.
