Aurangzeb Row: Some right -wing organizations have demanded the removal of the tomb of Mughal ruler Aurangzeb located in Khuldabad, Maharashtra, Maharashtra. Organizations like Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) have planned to submit a memorandum to the state government on Monday (March 17). It will request legal action to remove the grave. Organizations have warned of ‘Karseva’ and statewide protests if the demand is not met. Udayanraje Bhosle, a descendant of Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and BJP MP from Satara, demanded the removal of Aurangzeb’s grave in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
In Maharashtra, Aurangzeb is remembered for their fight with the Marathas, who opposed the expansionist ambitions of the Mughal ruler. Shivaji Maharaj’s son Sambhaji was tortured and killed on the orders of Aurangzeb. VHP and Bajrang Dal workers will also protest on Monday to remove Aurangzeb’s tomb. After this, a memorandum will also be submitted to the administration at the district level to remove the grave.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) national spokesperson Vinod Bansal posted on social media platform x for this dharna demonstration. Vinod Bansal wrote, “The upcoming Monday 17 March is the auspicious birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He put three generations for Hindavi Swarajya and protecting it and chewed the terrorists to the Mughals.
He said that after Aurangzeb, the time for the end of his grave is also coming. VHP and Bajrangdal workers will demonstrate to remove Aurangzeb’s tomb throughout Maharashtra on that day and give a memorandum to the government through the local Collector that Aurangzeb’s tomb and Aurangzebi mentality should be completely destroyed with the holy land of Shivaji Maharaj.
This is not the first time a party has demanded a demand for Aurangzeb’s grave to be removed or a sit -in demonstration. This issue is being raised vigorously at this time, because, recently the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb was praised by Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi. Abu Azmi refused to consider Aurangzeb as a cruel ruler.
Abu Azmi said that India was a golden bird during Aurangzeb’s reign. He did not break the temple, made it but made. Politics intensified after this statement of Azmi. Abu Azmi faced opposition to his statement. He later apologized for his statement. However, now Aurangzeb’s demand to remove the grave from Maharashtra has intensified.
On the issue of the tomb of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in Khuldabad in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district in Maharashtra, there was a verbal war between the leaders of the ruling Shiv Sena and Uddhav Thackeray -led Shiv Sena faction. Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council Ambadas Danve said that the presence of the tomb is reminiscent that the Mughal emperor was defeated and buried here.
