A popular South Indian restaurant brand that himself filed a complaint against his own customer. It is being said that they have tried to discredit the brand and to make money from the outlet at Bangalore Airport.

Explain that the brand has issued a statement that a person has issued a statement after a person claimed to have got a worm for his breakfast at the outlet at Rameswaram Cafe. The cafe has now also lodged a police complaint, alleging that the entire incident was hatched as part of an attempt to blackmail money and to discredit the brand.

For your information, let us know that in the morning of July 24, 2025, a group of 5-7 people created a ruckus at the cafe airport outlet, along with one of them claimed to find a worm in Pongal.

The customer said that when he saw the worm, he was eating food. Just after this, the customer started accusing the employees.

No one paid attention to him until that person started recording this whole incident in the phone.

The customer said, “When I started recording a video of insects in food and staff reactions, he started apologizing.”

Rameswaram Cafe called it a false claim
It was only after the incident that an official complaint was lodged with the police of the cafe, in which he said that the persons concerned had threatened to broadcast the video if Rs 25 lakh cash was not given.

Along with this, the brand submitted the call log, message and several documents and urged the officials to take immediate legal action.

Rejecting all these allegations, Divya Raghav, founder of The Rameswaram Cafe, said, “We do not believe in this baseless charge and refute that a worm has been found in our food. Our food safety and cleanliness cannot be compromised. We follow a lot of strict quality standards, especially at special places like airports.

He further said that it is a clear case of “a drama” made with malicious intentions to “make money and discredit our brand.
Divya further said that this is not the first time someone has tried like this. He said, “Even before, many times customers have put stones or insects in food, but have been caught red -handed. We will not bow down to anyone’s threat or blackmail.”
