Meta wristband : META has introduced a new technology that will completely change the way your device will change. According to a report by the Nature Journal, Meta has created a restband (a wrist band) that can understand the electrical signals coming from the human muscles and through that smartphones, computers and other devices can be controlled.
The most important thing is that the person wearing a band will not even need to move to control his device. Just thinking about shaking will reveal the reaction on the device’s screen. However, this device is currently in the development stage. But Meta says that it can be launched in the market in the next few years.
What is special in the restband?
Meta’s reality labs team has designed this restband with electromayography (EMG) technology. EMG reads the electrical signals that go from the brain to the muscles (especially the forearm muscles).
These signals are so sharp that even the skin can be read across and gives faster response than the actual movement of muscles. Meta’s Research Vice President Thomas Reyardon said, “You don’t really need to move, just the thinking of moving is enough.”
AI and Machine Learning Help
This technology has a special role of AI, which understands the pattern of muscle signals and tells them about them.
The biggest thing is that new users will not need training to use the device. Just wear it on the wrist and it will start working immediately depending on the data already existing.
