UPI Charges: RBI Gawanwar Sanjay Malhotra has indicated that the payment is not always free on payment through UPI. Speaking in a media elevation, he said that now the UPI system works without any charge, that is, users do not have to pay any charge for this. However, the government subsidize banks and other stakeholders for this so that the UPI system can easily run real time payment infrastructure. He said that India is committed to make digital payments safe and improve, but the stability of infrastructure cannot be ignored, so obviously someone will have to pay expenses.
