Sanjay Kapoor is left behind by an umpire of Rs 30,000 crore. Legal and family issues are constantly coming up regarding control of this empire. On July 24, Sanjay’s mother and former chairperson of Sona Group, Rani Kapoor, had demanded to postpone the AGM for two weeks in a letter to the board. But the company’s board did not do so. Rani Kapoor alleged that while the family is mourning Sanjay’s death on the one hand, on the other hand some people are trying to gain control and grab family heritage.
Rani Kapoor also said that she is the only beneficiary of her property according to her late husband Surinder Kapoor’s will. In this way he is a major shareholder among the gold group companies. But Sona Comstetar said in a notice to the stock market that according to her records, Rani Kapoor is not a company shareholder since 2019.
