Gastroenterologist Dr. Saurabh Sethi has recently given nine important facts related to digestive health, which can change people’s perceptions about everyday food. Dr. Sethi especially described light green banana as the most beneficial for digestion. These green bananas contain resistant starch, which acts like fiber and promotes good bacteria, which improves our intestines health. Conversely, completely ripe bananas contain more sugar, which are not as beneficial for digestion.

Apart from this, he also spoke about some common character foods that give digestion and many benefits to the body. For example, when the rice is cooled and heated again, the resistant starch increases in it, which helps in the control of blood sugar and promotes good digestion. Blue and red berry (such as blueberries, strawberries) are rich in antioxidants that reduce inflammation and keep the heart and brain healthy.
