Firing occurred at a Catholic school on Wednesday morning in Minianpolis, USA. Police said the attacker has been controlled. However, local media quoted police sources as saying that the attacker had been killed. So far no confirmed information has been received about the victims. Minnesota Governor Tim Walj wrote on X, “I have been informed about the firing at Annasia Catholic School. As we get more information, we will keep giving updates.”
The school is located near its church in the southern part of the big city of Midwest. Live video footage showed that parents were taking their young children from school, while a large number of emergency teams were present on the spot.
When contacted on the phone, a school person told the news agency AFP, “We are in the process of taking out our children out of the building.” The city’s official X account later stated that “the shooter has been caught and there is no active threat to the common people at this time.”
The officials appealed to the people to stay away from this area so that emergency teams could help the victims. However, it was not reported how many people are injured or dead.
Governor Walz said, “I am praying for our children and teachers, whose first week of school was spoiled by this terrible violence.”
US President Donald Trump also said that he has been informed about this tragic firing and FBI is taking action on the spot.
He wrote on Truth Social, “The White House will monitor this terrible situation. Please pray for all the affected people with me.”
It is learned that the firing took place at a time when false news of fake firing was spread in many college campuses in America recently. These incidents occurred while returning to college after the students’ summer holidays.
