The Uttarakhand cabinet has taken a historic decision today. It has been decided that Uttarakhand Minority Educational Institute Act, 2025 will be brought in the upcoming assembly session. Till now only the Muslim community used to get the status of minority educational institution. Under the proposed bill, now other minority communities like – Sikh, Jain, Christian, Buddhist and Parsi will also get this facility. This will be the first act in the country to establish a transparent process to recognize educational institutions established by minority communities in the state, as well as to ensure quality and excellence in education.
