Hinduism contractors reached there and ordered to close the program. He further said, “Do not spoil the culture of Rishikesh. This is not our culture.”
After this, a contestant asked Bhatnagar to stop selling such clothes in all the shops.
However, he told him not to say anything to him.
The contestant replied, “Then don’t you say anything to us. Let us do what we are doing”, to which Bhatnagar said that “they can do whatever they want in their homes.”
Then the contestant told him who he is going to tell him anything. He asked, “Who are you?”.
Bhatnagar said that he could live there, but he will “shut down the show”. He said, “You are ruining the culture of Uttarakhand.”
Pankaj Chandani, president of Lions Club Rishikesh, supported the participants, saying that he is an adult and can wear whatever he wants.
Police said they have not received any formal complaint and the matter has been resolved between the two sides.
The Miss Rishikesh competition was held on its scheduled time on Saturday.
