WhatsApp Status Question Feature: WhatsApp introduces new status question feature, answers will be private and secure - whatsapp introduces new status question feature answers will be private and secure

WhatsApp Status Question Feature: Instant messaging app WhatsApp has started testing the new Status Question feature for Android users. According to reports, this feature is currently available only for some beta testers on Google Play Store and it will be rolled out to more users in the coming weeks. This feature is similar to Instagram’s Question Sticker, in which viewers can send their answers directly in the question box. The special thing is that the replies sent will remain private and only the sender and receiver will be able to see them.

How does WhatsApp’s Status Question feature work?

According to a report by feature tracker WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has started introducing the Status Questions feature for its beta testers in the latest update of Android 2.25.29.12. This update is rolling out slowly, so not all users will see this feature right away, even if their version is the latest beta.

The company will make it available to more users in the coming weeks so that bugs can be fixed and feedback from users can be taken.

This new feature will work like Instagram’s Question Sticker. Users will be able to add a question box to their status along with a photo or video and their contacts will be able to directly type the answer to that question. There can be multiple answers to each question, which will be visible in the ‘Viewers List’.

If the feature isn’t available in a contact’s app, WhatsApp will show a message saying “This feature is not currently supported in their version.” Answers will only be visible to the person who posted the question.

You will get a notification when someone answers your question. Apart from this, if you want, you can also share these answers in your next status. The identity of the answerer will remain private and there will also be an option to report inappropriate answers.

All answers will be end-to-end encrypted, so that security and privacy are maintained. Only the sender and receiver will be able to see them.
