What was approved for the Indian Army?

The Ministry of Defense said that the meeting approved the purchase of Loiter Munition System, Low Level Light Weight Radar, Pinaka Multiple Launch Rocket System and Integrated Drone Detection and Interdiction System Mark-2 for the Indian Army.

According to the Ministry of Defence, the lighter munitions will be used for precision strikes on strategic targets, while the low-level light-weight radar will be able to detect and track the small-sized Low Altitude Unmanned Aerial System (MRLS).

Long-range rocket Pinaka will enhance the MRLS’s firepower and accuracy. The Mark-II, a single drone identification and integrated drone detection and interdiction system with advanced strike capability, will protect the Army’s critical assets in the country’s strategic battlefields and hinterlands.
