Indian Railway : Indian Railways has given good news to the customers who bought train tickets of General Coach. Ministry of Railways will provide 3 percent discount on purchase of unreserved train tickets through RailOne app and payment through any digital mode from 14 January to 14 July 2026. Currently, 3 percent cashback is offered on booking unreserved tickets through RWallet payment on the RailOne app.
Ministry wrote to CRIS
In a letter dated 30 December 2026, the ministry to the Center for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) said, “With an aim to promote digital booking, it has been decided to provide 3 per cent discount on booking of unreserved tickets through all digital payment modes on the RailOne app.” The letter requested necessary changes in the software system.
The letter clarified that. The existing 3 percent cashback on train ticket bookings made through RWallet on the RailOne app will continue. The letter states that the offer of 3 percent discount will be applicable from 14.01.2026 to 14.07.2026. CRIS will submit its response to the proposal in May for further scrutiny. “
What did the officer say?
An official clarified that, in the existing system, 3 percent cashback is given to prospective passengers who buy general coach train tickets on the RailOne app and pay through R-Wallet. However, in the new proposal, a discount of 3 percent will be given to unreserved ticket buyers across all digital payment modes on RailOne. He also informed that this offer is not available on any other online unreserved ticket buying platform.
Railways has made a significant change for Aadhaar linked users. The ticket booking window has been changed from December 29, the first day of the Advance Reservation Period (ARP), which will directly affect lakhs of train passengers. The main objective of this move is to make the online ticket booking system more transparent and secure, so that its benefits can be extended only to genuine passengers.
