Tata Ernakulam Express train fire : Today 29 December 2025, early Monday morning, two coaches of the Tata Ernakulam Express caught fire near Elamanchili in Anacapalli, Andhra Pradesh. The loco pilot immediately stopped the train and evacuated all the passengers safely. According to Anakapalli Superintendent of Police Tuhin Sinha, one passenger died in the fire.
The accident in the Tata-Ernakulam Express took place early in the morning when the passengers were fast asleep. Panic spread as soon as the fire was reported. The coaches of the train quickly burned. According to Railway PRO, one coach has caught fire.
On Monday, coaches B1 and M2 of the Tata-Ernakulam Express caught fire suddenly. The fire caused panic in the train, but the passengers were safely evacuated in time. A body has been recovered.
Both coaches of the train were completely destroyed in the fire. On getting information about the fire, the loco pilot immediately stopped the train, after which the railway staff and fire brigade team reached the spot and started extinguishing the fire. However, by the time the fire brigade arrived, both the coaches were completely engulfed in flames.
A dead body was found from the Tata-Ernakulam Express
A senior police officer said the accident took place near Yelamanchili. A police official said that 82 passengers were traveling in one affected coach and 76 passengers in the other when the fire broke out.
He said that unfortunately, the dead body of one of the coach B1 has been found. The deceased has been identified as Chandrasekhar Sundaram. Some passengers also suffered minor burns. The luggage of all the passengers was also destroyed in the accident.
A forensic team is investigating to determine the cause of the fire
A police official told reporters that the two damaged coaches were separated from the train, after which the train left for Ernakulam.

Arrangements will be made to send passengers from the affected coaches to their destinations. He said two forensic teams are investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
