The possibility that the year of more than 40 thousand children will deteriorate!
The academic session of the year 2023-24 will start from next June. As per the new education policy, children who get admission in class 1 must be 6 years old by June 1 for admission. But if the government does not give a grace period in this matter, the school management board has expressed the possibility that the year of more than 40 thousand children will deteriorate. Bhaskar Patel, President of the State School Management Board, has said, ‘Government should not mind giving relief to children by giving them a grace period. The school management board has proposed to admit the children born up to 14 June in class 1 with the permission of the authority. Also Read: Lyo…now mobile library started in Gandhinagar
The school management board wrote a letter to the chief minister
In this regard, he said, ‘Earlier there was a provision that those who completed five years on August 31 were given admission to the first standard. After that, the district education officer or district administration officer considered the grace period till September 14, i.e. if the parent asked for written permission, permission was given in writing by the officer and the child was admitted in the first standard. Now in the new education policy, 31st May i.e. 1st June has been considered as the cut off date. Then we have requested the government to include such children by giving a grace period like 14th June or 15th June as before, so that most of the children would be spared from getting admission.

Letter to Chief Minister to relax admission
He further said that, ‘We believe that the government should not have any problem in giving this grace period of one year. Apart from this, we also demand to start the academic year from the month of April. Apart from this, registration of children’s temples is to be made mandatory as per the new education policy. Even the process to give approval letters to them has not been done yet this year. Therefore, if a grace period is given for this year regarding the new education policy, the problem of most of the parents will be solved.
