Chandigarh-based bank employee Abhishek Trivedi succumbed to the incurable disease ‘Multiple Sclerosis’ at the age of 19. His legs stopped working at the age of 25. Passed UPSC pre exam, but could not prepare further due to disease progression. It was during those days that he met Richa Gupta, who, knowing about his illness, married him… followed every step of the way.

Richa also works in a bank. Abhishek, who goes to Kerala for Ayurvedic treatment every 3 months, this time covers about 3100 km from Chandigarh to Kerala. Will drive the car myself. The purpose of the yatra, starting from June 14, is to inspire the victims of such diseases. The brakes and accelerators in Abhishek’s automatic car are controlled manually. Abhishek was diagnosed with his illness in 2004 in Greater Noida when he was studying mechanical engineering.

While playing cricket, when the ball came close to the batsman’s shot, there was darkness in front of the eyes for a few moments and the ball was missed. Doctors told that this disease is multi sclerosis. There is no cure for it. Research is going on, but so far no success. At the age of 25, his legs stopped working. Abhishek came to know about the treatment of this disease in an Ayurvedic hospital in Kerala. He went there for three months in September 2021.

After the treatment, slight strength came back in his legs. The doctors said that one will have to come here three times for three months. Abhishek bought an automatic car and got some changes done in it.
