DGCA on Akasa Air: Akasa Air, backed by stock market bigbull Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, is now ready to take off. The aviation regulator DGCA has given Akasa Air an air operator certificate for the flight, after which the airline will be able to resume its commercial flight operations by the end of July.
The test flight flew several times
Akasa Air tweeted about it. Prior to the commencement of commercial operations, Akasa Air had applied for an Air Operator Permit from the airlines sector regulator DGCA. Akasa Air’s proving flight flew several times to satisfy aviation regulator DGCA to obtain air operator certification. The airline officials traveled with the DGCA officials as passengers on this proving flight. There were also Caribbean crew members.
On June 21, 2022, Akasa Air’s first aircraft, the Boeing 737 Max, landed at Delhi Airport. The aircraft was delivered to Akasa Air in Seattle, USA on June 16. Boeing was ordered by Akasa Air last November for 72 Boeing 737 MAX planes. Of which this first plane was delivered.
